Coach Noyes addresses a gym full of supporters.
A full gym full of students, teachers, parents and fans cheered repeatedly as coach Doug Noyes spoke about the team and the players.
On amazing statistic coach Noyes pointed out was Maria Gonzalez’s goal tally for the season, which was 29. Maria scored as many goals herself as many entire teams did during the season.
Coach Noyes pointed out that the team scored at least five goals against every team they played – an astounding accomplishment.
The team had a motto this year that was borrowed from the huge hit movie, 300: “Give to them nothing, but take from them everything.”
The team earns their spot on the STM wall of champions.
Coach Noyes noted that sometimes the team were criticized because they played so hard against teams that they were beating. Reading several parts of scripture, he said that when you are playing for the lord you are supposed to be competitive and give literally everything you have and that the team did just that.
After a video presentation, the assembly moved to the lunchroom for refreshments.
